Hyundai Creta EV : Hyundai is in the race of EVs in India, and it seems the excitement is heightened further for the entry into the game. The latest update? The all-new Hyundai Creta EV has been spotted testing on Indian roads! This is huge news because the Creta is already one of the most loved SUVs in the country, and now going electric. Let’s look at what you can expect from the Creta EV in 2025.
The test vehicle for Creta EV looks quite similar to its petrol/diesel sibling, there are a few differences nonetheless. The front grille has been closed, like all electric vehicles these days, which do not need much cooling. The alloy wheels on the test mule appear to be new, and we would expect the charging port to be at the front, as is mostly seen with other global Hyundai EVs.
On the other hand, no official clear specifications have been confirmed yet on battery and range. But it is expected that Hyundai will carry forward the same electric powertrain as seen globally on the Kona EV; perhaps, this would see a range of about 350-450 KM on a single charge. Such a range would make it adequate for city requirements as well as long drives on weekends. Fast charging capability is also expected, which means it could charge up to 80 percent in under an hour.
In fact, from a futuristic point of view, the inside of the Creta EV is expected to be equipped with digital displays, connected car technology, and possibly, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Thus, much heavier embellishment is expected to follow onto its high-end features, such as a large touchscreen, a number of premium ventilated seats, a wireless charging pad, and sunroof options.
Thus, the price should be expected between Rs 18-22 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Creta EV. While it seems to be a lot of money, it will very likely compete with the likes of similar electric SUVs such as Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, and the yet-to-launch Maruti eVX.
