Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG 2025 : The new CNG version of the much-loved Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback grabbed everyone’s attention in 2025. Known for sporty looks and peppy performance, Swift has been one of his favorite cars for Indian buyers. This CNG version now adds a flavor of better fuel savings and eco-friendly driving to the existing one, making it much more interesting for city visitors and daily commuters.
This is matched with Maruti’s latest 1.2-litre Z12E petrol engine specifically tuned to HNG usage with 2025 Swift CNG. The 5-speed manual gearbox engine generates a power of 70 PS and a peak torque of 95 Nm and functions only in CNG. Unlike the petrol variant, this CNG variant misses the AMT option; however, manual transmission is light and smooth for easy city driving.
In the mileage aspect, Maruti boasts of an ARAI certified claim of 32.85 km, which sure sounds good to most; but in real terms, that’s going to depend on how one drives the car. Expect around 22-25 km/kg in city traffic and about 30-35 km/kg on highways. Thus, it makes for one of the most optimized use of fuel in CNG hatchbacks.
Inside, the Swift CNG is exactly the same. A functional layout will be present in all its three different variants, namely VXi, VXi(O), and ZXi. The high-end model is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED projector headlamps, wireless charger, alloy wheels, and steering-mounted controls. The safety features now include a six-airbag safety feature, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), a hill-hold assist, and reverse parking sensors.
The only drawback is that the boot spaces will be reduced by the 55-litre CNG tank. This might become somewhat inconvenient for those families who often travel with luggage. Since the tank occupies most of the area, there is no spare tyre in the boot.
