MG Motor is all set to shake the electric car segment once again with its upcoming 2025 model of Comet EV. The compact size, funky design, and smart features are aimed at young urban buyers. The new version promises better range and tech updates. Those who missed the previous edition can now look forward to a much-improved variant in the same price bracket.
Engine and Battery Setup
The MG Comet EV 2025 is expected to come with a rear-mounted electric motor powered by a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery. It delivers 42 PS power and 110 Nm torque, offering a smooth drive for daily city rides. The setup supports fast and regular charging options, with a claimed charging time of under 7 hours with a 3.3kW charger.
Mileage and Range
The company claims the Comet EV will offer a driving range of up to 230 km on a single charge. This is suitable for regular commutes and intra-city usage. While not designed for long highway drives, the range covers the majority of daily urban travel needs with ease and efficiency.
Interior, Features and Design
The 2025 model continues with its quirky boxy look but may feature minor cosmetic updates. Inside, it offers a 10.25-inch dual-screen setup with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital driving display, wireless charging, power windows, and a rotary drive selector. Safety is ensured with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse camera, and rear parking sensors. Its compact design allows easy parking and navigation in tight city lanes.
Price and Expected Launch
The MG Comet EV 2025 is expected to launch in early 2025 with a starting price of around ₹6.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The company may introduce a limited-time introductory offer or exchange bonus at launch. It is likely to compete with other small EVs in the affordable segment.
