The BYD Seal 2025 is set to make a strong entry into the Indian electric car market. This electric sedan comes from the Chinese EV manufacturer BYD, which is slowly building its name in India. The BYD Seal offers a premium design, advanced technology, and a powerful battery, aiming to attract customers looking for luxury and performance in an electric vehicle.
Powerful Performance from Dual Motor Setup
The BYD Seal 2025 comes equipped with a dual-motor setup in the top variant that delivers up to 523 PS of power and 670 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, offering sports-car-like performance. The single-motor variants are also available, producing 312 PS. It is based on BYD’s e-platform 3.0 and supports rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options.
Excellent Range and Charging Speed
In terms of range, the BYD Seal 2025 offers up to 700 km (claimed) on a full charge, depending on the variant. The car supports ultra-fast DC charging, allowing it to charge from 30 to 80% in around 30 minutes. The base variant gets a 61.4 kWh battery, while the higher variants come with an 82.5 kWh battery pack. This makes it one of the longest-range EVs in its segment.
Interior and Features Make It a Complete Package
The car comes with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 12-speaker Dynaudio sound system, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof. It also gets ADAS features like lane assist, adaptive cruise control, and emergency braking. The build quality and finish reflect a premium segment car. It has 400 liters of boot space, 50 liters of frunk, and a drag coefficient of 0.219.
Pricing and India Launch Update
BYD Seal is expected to launch in India in late 2025. The expected starting price will be around ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be positioned as a premium electric sedan and will compete with models like Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6. BYD may offer attractive finance or exchange schemes during the launch to push sales.
