Tata Motors is all set to reintroduce its iconic SUV, the Tata Sierra, in a brand-new avatar by 2025. This time, the vehicle will be offered in both electric and petrol variants. It has already made waves at the Auto Expo and is expected to target urban buyers looking for a stylish and futuristic SUV. Let’s take a closer look at its specifications and details.
Engine and Powertrain Details
The Tata Sierra 2025 will offer both electric and ICE (internal combustion engine) powertrains. The EV version is expected to come with a dual-motor setup delivering all-wheel drive capability. Meanwhile, the petrol version will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, similar to the one seen in other Tata models. This engine will produce around 170 PS of power, paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Mileage and Driving Range
For the electric variant, Tata may offer a driving range of 500 km on a single charge. Fast charging will also be supported, and Tata is expected to use its Gen-2 EV architecture. On the other hand, the petrol version could offer a mileage of around 18-20 km/l depending on driving conditions and transmission type.
Dimensions and Features
The Sierra will be around 4.3 metres long and will feature a bold and rugged design. It will come with a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ADAS technology, connected car features, and a digital cockpit. The SUV will likely offer captain seats for the second row and a spacious interior layout. It will be based on Tata’s Sigma platform, specifically developed for EVs.
Expected Price and Launch Offers
The Tata Sierra is expected to launch in early 2025 with a starting price of around ₹22 lakh for the petrol version and ₹28 lakh for the electric variant. Introductory offers may include exchange benefits, special finance schemes, and service packages during launch.
