EPFO Now Settles PF Claims Up to ₹5 Lakh Instantly – Check New Rules

Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made a big announcement that brings relief to millions of salaried employees. Now, claims up to ₹5 lakh can be settled automatically without any human interference. This decision is expected to speed up the settlement process and reduce delays caused by manual processing.

Faster Claim Settlement without Human Involvement

EPFO has upgraded its claim settlement system by launching an auto-mode approval system. Earlier, claims up to ₹50,000 were processed automatically, but now this limit has been increased to ₹5 lakh. This change will benefit a large number of EPF subscribers who seek quick withdrawal in case of emergency or job loss. It also ensures that fewer people need to follow up or wait due to manual delays.

Aadhaar Seeding and e-KYC Are Must for Instant Approval

To take advantage of this facility, it is important that the EPFO account is fully updated. Your Aadhaar must be linked, e-KYC must be completed, and bank account details should be verified. The auto-settlement will only take place if all records match exactly. Any mismatch in documents will result in rejection or delay, and in such cases, the claim will be moved to manual verification.

Manual Check Only If Claim Fails Verification

If the automatic process fails due to any mismatch or error, the claim will be forwarded to a human for manual verification. But as per EPFO’s statement, 80% of the claims falling under this ₹5 lakh bracket are expected to be cleared instantly. This step is part of EPFO’s plan to digitise the entire claim process for better transparency and efficiency.

New System Rolled Out Across India

The new system has already been implemented in various EPFO offices across the country. It is expected to improve service delivery and reduce pressure on EPFO staff. With increasing digital adoption, more people can now receive their funds without long waiting times.
