Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has started deliveries of the Honda Rebel 500 in the country. This middleweight cruiser enters the Indian market via the CBU route under the BigWing premium lineup. With its low-slung design and aggressive stance, the Rebel 500 aims to directly challenge Royal Enfield’s popular cruisers in this space.
Engine Performance of Honda Rebel 500
The Honda Rebel 500 comes with a 471cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 46.9 bhp and 43.3 Nm of peak torque. It’s paired with a 6-speed gearbox and uses Honda’s Programmed Fuel Injection technology. The engine offers a smooth throttle response and a relaxed riding feel, which is well-suited for long-distance cruising and city rides alike.
Mileage You Can Expect
Though Honda has not officially declared the ARAI-tested mileage, real-world estimates suggest around 25-30 kmpl. The Rebel 500 balances power and economy, delivering a mileage range suitable for a 500cc cruiser class motorcycle. This makes it an appealing option for buyers who want a mix of performance and decent fuel efficiency.
Other Key Specifications
The Honda Rebel 500 is built on a steel diamond frame and weighs 191 kg. It features a low 690 mm seat height, making it accessible to a wide range of riders. The bike gets 16-inch wheels, a full-LED lighting setup, and a digital LCD instrument console. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. It also gets dual-channel ABS with disc brakes on both ends, adding to safety.
Price and Purchase Offers
The Honda Rebel 500 is priced at ₹5.12 lakh (ex-showroom). Since it’s brought in as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), pricing is on the premium side. Deliveries have begun across select BigWing dealerships in India. Currently, there are no introductory offers, but finance schemes and easy EMI options are available through Honda’s official channels.
