MG, Kia, Nissan to Launch 3 New MPVs in India – Electric & Budget Models Incoming

In the coming months, the Indian automobile market is set to welcome three new MPVs from MG, Kia, and Nissan. These models are expected to offer electric and petrol variants, appealing to both budget-conscious buyers and EV enthusiasts. With new designs and enhanced cabin features, all three automakers aim to attract large families and commercial users alike.

MG Cloud EV MPV

MG is preparing to launch the Cloud EV, a fully electric MPV based on the Wuling Cloud from China. It will feature a 5-seater layout and is expected to offer a modern dashboard, dual-screen setup, and advanced connectivity. Its electric motor may produce up to 134 BHP, and MG is targeting a range of around 400 km per charge. The design focuses on a clean silhouette with wide rear seats, making it a comfortable family choice.

Kia Carens Petrol-hybrid MPV

Kia will soon introduce an updated Carens with a petrol-hybrid option. The new Carens will continue offering a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a mild hybrid setup. The MPV is likely to retain the 6- and 7-seater layout with minor updates to the infotainment system and ADAS features. Kia may also tweak the suspension setup for better comfort and include fresh alloy wheel designs.

Nissan’s New Budget MPV

Nissan is entering the MPV segment again with a new model based on the Renault Triber platform. This upcoming MPV will be powered by a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine with manual and AMT gearbox options. It is expected to come with a 7-seater configuration and practical features like roof rails, rear AC vents, and a large boot. The design may follow a crossover-like profile to attract younger buyers.

Expected Prices and Launch Timeline

The MG Cloud EV may launch around the festive season with an expected price of ₹25 lakh. Kia’s updated Carens hybrid could be priced from ₹13 lakh onwards. Nissan’s budget MPV might carry a starting price of ₹8 lakh, targeting entry-level MPV buyers. All three models are likely to hit showrooms by early 2025.
