PF Withdrawal via UPI and ATM Soon – Know When and How It Will Work

In a major relief for employees across the country, the government is now preparing to allow Provident Fund (PF) withdrawals directly through UPI and ATM. This means users will no longer have to wait for the claim to settle online or visit EPFO offices for withdrawals. The new system aims to make the process faster and more accessible to every PF account holder.

PF withdrawal system getting upgraded

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is working on a new mechanism to allow users to withdraw PF amounts using ATM and UPI platforms. Once implemented, the new system will enable real-time access to PF money directly through bank ATMs or UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, or Paytm. It is expected that the facility will be rolled out in a phased manner after system integration with banks is complete. This will reduce the waiting time and offer instant withdrawals without any paperwork.

Benefits of ATM and UPI-based withdrawal

This system will be highly beneficial for salaried individuals, especially in emergency situations. The UPI option will make it possible to get funds without logging in to the EPFO portal. Even users without internet access can withdraw their PF using ATMs. EPFO will link Aadhaar and mobile number verification to maintain the security and integrity of the process. The system will also provide confirmation messages and withdrawal history instantly.

When will this facility start?

As per the latest updates from EPFO sources, the UPI and ATM-based withdrawal service is currently in its final testing phase. The rollout is expected to begin in the coming months, possibly by the end of 2025. Once fully launched, users will be able to withdraw partial or full PF amounts anytime, without delays. This move is also part of the broader digitalization efforts by the central government.
