Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, thousands of farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually in three equal installments. But now, a big update has come for farmers—if your Aadhaar number is entered incorrectly, the installment may be stopped immediately. This issue is being reported in many states, and the government has now urged farmers to re-check their details on the official PM Kisan portal to avoid payment failure.
Aadhaar number mistake causing major issues
According to the latest update, many farmers have been left out of the 17th installment due to incorrect Aadhaar numbers. The Ministry of Agriculture has made it clear that the Aadhaar must be correctly linked with bank accounts and land records. If there’s even a minor mismatch in Aadhaar or bank details, the money will not be credited. This has led to a situation where eligible farmers are missing out on the financial support promised under the scheme.
Verification process made easier
To help farmers, the government has simplified the e-KYC process. Farmers can now verify Aadhaar details online through the PM Kisan portal or visit the nearest CSC (Common Service Centre) for biometric verification. Farmers are advised to ensure that their names in bank records match exactly with Aadhaar details. Only after verification will the next installment be released. This move is to ensure transparency and prevent fake beneficiaries from claiming the amount.
Important instructions for all beneficiaries
Farmers are requested to visit pmkisan.gov.in and update their details if necessary. Apart from Aadhaar verification, land record documents should also be uploaded properly. Without correct KYC, future payments under the scheme will be on hold. The government has already started the process for the 18th installment, so urgent action is required from farmers whose money was withheld.
