TVS Apache RTR 310 vs Yamaha MT-15 : For streetfighter motorcycle enthusiasts, aggressive looks, sharp-handling, and punchy performance are the ultimate thrill. While the TVS Apache RTR 310 and Yamaha MT-15 have both been two fabulous value-for-money hot streetfighter bikes under Rs 2 lakh in 2025, which one worth a garage? Let us compare them in terms of looks, performance, features, and price to figure out who emerges as the ultimate victor.
The Apache RTR 310, a new member of the Apache family, comes with a bold and muscular look with futuristic headlamp design and classic, sharp tank extensions. The bike is built-sharing the platform-with the Apache RR 310, but more attuned for naked bike lovers. Meanwhile, the Yamaha MT-15 sticks to the classic minimalist aggression depicted through the iconic Transformer-like front face and is, in fact, smaller, lighter, and more functional for pure street riding.
Apache RTR 310 is powered by a mighty 35.6 PS of power and 28.7 Nm of torque translating out from its 312.2cc engine. The assortment of ride modes, ride-by-wire, and even cruise control is hard to find at this price. The Yamaha MT-15, in contrast, is powered by a 155cc engine that churns out just 18.4 PS and 14.1 Nm. Although the MT-15 may lack in sheer power, its lightweight chassis and highly refined Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology make it immensely fast and fun in cities.
Amazingly more features adorn the Apache RTR 310. The list includes Bluetooth-linked TFT console, adjustable suspension, slipper clutch, and dynamic LED lighting. The MT-15 does get a digital instrument cluster and Bluetooth connectivity, although it is missing out on some features that the Apache offers.
The pricing of the Yamaha MT-15 is lower at about Rs 1.68 lakh (ex-showroom). Mostly priced higher at Rs 1.99 lakh, the price of Apache RTR 310 is sanctioned, given the kind of features and power it comes with.
Judgment: If you need the more powerful and feature-loaded streetfighter to be ridden in a mixed-use scenario of city and highway, Apache RTR 310 wins here. While Yamaha MT-15 certainly turns more heads and is more apt for city joyrides, it does so at a comparatively lower price. Both seem to be great value propositions on paper in the sub-₹2 lakh streetfighter category.
